Hello, I'm Ash Hudson. You might not know me from a bar of soap. But I want to share a pivotal part of my journey with you to perhaps give your pain purpose.

About 15 years ago, I found myself lost in a maze of unhealthy habits, wondering how I had veered so far off course.

Fast forward three years. There I was, grappling with the same old issues. I was jobless and freshly out of a long term relationship.

It was a tough wake-up call that led me to introspect and reassess my life amidst this turmoil. A great call to awaken. To re-evaluate my life in the pit of this pain.

10 years ago I turned to fitness. It reshaped not just my body but also my perspective. It propelled me towards becoming a health coach.

Fitness opened the door to personal development, but it was just the beginning.

The real transformation unfolded through self-enquiry. I learned to shine light on my shadows, take control of my thoughts, and elevate my emotional state.

The Drifter.

Ever woke up from sleep walking through life and ask “how did I get here?

I was like a drifter floating where ever the wind blew.

If you are wondering what a drifter is Napoleon Hill in his book Outwitting the Devil says it best.  

"A drifter lacks clear purpose. They are easily influenced and float through life without definitive plans or self-direction. Allowing external circumstances to dictate their life."

Self-awareness is like a defence against the "dark arts of drifting" in defeating ignorance.

Self awareness empowers you to make deliberate choices and resist external influences.

When I was 26 I started my personal development journey with coaching and self enquiry.

The whole promise was if you change your thoughts you will change your results.

At the beginning, it was not easy facing the darker aspects of my old identity. But determined, the hard way became easy. So much so I wish I started self enquiry in primary school.

Through self enquiry I identified the culprit of confusion.

The enemy is ignorance.

Ignorance is unconsciously creating your life. We are always creating whether we are aware of it or not.

Drifting was the easy way out. But I discovered that the only way out, is in.

The easy way often becomes the hard way. And the hard way I went.

Escaping The Trap of Unawareness

I've been there, ignoring internal turmoil. Such self-delusion is often a defence against pain. Unchecked, these issues only grow. Now, I advocate facing discomfort. Confronting fear to find flow. Embracing challenges, don't fleeing from them.

This approach turns challenges into triumphs an transforms obstacles into opportunities.

Remember, remaining in comfort zones is the real crisis.

The improvement being as simple as adjusting a broken link in a chain of behaviour.

Rather then saying "I am broken, why bother."

You could say "the strategy I'm using has a broken link" what can I do to change it?

Without self-knowledge, you're bound to repeat what is not repaired.
